Suvendu Dey

Hometown: Tamluk, Medinipur, West Bengal, India

Education: B.Sc.(H) Chemistry (2015), M.Sc. Chemistry (2017)

Suvendu is from West Bengal, India, and received his Bachelor (2015) and Master (2017) (Spl. Organic Chemistry) degrees in Chemistry from Vidyasagar University (VU). After M.sc, he worked under the guidance of Dr. Sunirmal Jana (Principal Scientist) on “Development of Polyurethane based anticorrosive composite sheet for designing of military shoes,” sponsored by DRDO, Govt. of India, at CGCRI-Kolkata. He also worked on a short-term project under the supervision of Dr. Debayan Sarkar (Associate Professor) at the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (NITR). Finally, he joined Ray’s group as a Junior Research Fellow in July 2018. He likes reading novels, traveling, and painting during his free time.

Manoj Upadhyay

Hometown: Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, India

Education: B.Sc (Chemistry and Botany) 2016, M.Sc (Chemistry)2019

Manoj is from Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, and received his Bachelor degree (Chemistry)in 2016 and Master’s degree (Spl. Organic Chemistry) in 2019 from the University of Allahabad, India. He completed his Master’s dissertation under the supervision of Prof. Vandana Singh on the topic “Use of green and microwave-assisted synthetic approach in alkylation reactions.” He also worked on a short-term project under the supervision of Dr. Santosh Srivastava (University of Allahabad) on the topic “Biogenic synthesis of ZnO nanoparticles using exopolysaccharides (EPS)”. Afterward, he joined Ray’s research group as a PhD Fellow in August 2020. He likes reading literature, traveling, and playing sports. He also writes poems and stories.

Raktim Deka

Hometown: Guwahati, Assam, India

Education: B.Sc(Hons.) Chemistry (2017), M.Sc. Chemistry(2019)

Raktim is from Namrup, Dibrugarh, Assam, and received his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry in 2017 from B.Borooah College, Gauhati University. Later, he completed his M.Sc from the Department of Chemistry, Gauhati University (2017-19). There, he did his M.Sc dissertation project, “One-pot synthesis of spiro-oxazolidine and its derivatives using a green catalyst,” under Dr. Dibakar Chandra Deka. Finally, he joined Ray’s group as a Ph.D. student in September 2020. In his free time, he enjoys painting, reading, and traveling.

Manjeet Singh

Hometown: V P O Gagsina, Karnal, Haryana

Education: B.Sc (non-med.) Chemistry (2015), M.Sc Applied Chemistry (2019)

Manjeet Singh is from Karnal, Haryana, and received his Bachelor’s degree (non-medical) in 2015 and Master’s degree (Applied Chemistry) in 2019 from Amity University, Noida, India. He completed his master’s dissertation on the topic “Spectroscopic investigation of probe material in different solvent mediums” under the supervision of Dr. Vinod Kumar. He also worked in the research laboratory of Bharat Rasyan Ltd. as a senior scientific officer. After that, he joined Ray’s research group as a PhD Fellow in August 2022. He likes reading literature, traveling, and playing sports.

Abhyay Dixit

Hometown: Maholi, Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh

Education: B.Sc Chemistry (2023)

Abhay is from Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh, and received his bachelor’s degree (Chemistry) in 2023 from Shiv Nadar University, India. He completed his Undergraduate Project under the supervision of Dr. Ajoy Kapat on the topic “Synthesis of Benzofuran Framework via Dimerization of Propargylic Ketone and Benzoquinone Under Acidic Conditions”. He has also done another project in his undergraduate entitled “Studies Directed Towards the Biomimetic Synthesis of Dysoxylum Alkaloids”. Afterward, he joined Ray’s research group as a Master Student in August 2023. His hobbies include literature, traveling, and playing sports.

Sreerang P

Hometown: Vadakara, Kozhikkode, Kerala

Education: Integrated MSc ( 2017-2022)

Sreerang is from Kozhikode, Kerala, and received his MSc degree (Chemistry) in 2022 from the Central University of Tamil Nadu, India. He completed his master’s dissertation under the supervision of Dr. Vittal Babu Gudimetla on the topic “Synthesis and catalytical applications of imidazolium-based NHC ligands.” Afterward, he joined Ray’s research group as a JRF Fellow in September 2022. He likes playing percussion instruments, traveling, and playing sports.

Tanika Sharma

Hometown: Delhi

Education: B.Sc(H) Chemistry (2020), M.Sc Chemistry (2022)

Tanika is from New Delhi, Delhi, and she received her Bachelor degree (Chemistry)in 2020 and Master’s degree (Spl. Organic Chemistry) in 2022 from the University of Delhi, India. She completed her master’s project under the supervision of Dr. Deepshika Rathore on the topic “Levodopa An-anti Parkinson drug”. Afterward, she joined Ray’s research group as a project assistant in November 2023. She likes to read books and listen to music in her free time.
